We are frequently approached at events and asked "what are they?" Most people we meet have no knowledge that the longhorns became almost extinct. Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of books available detailing the rich history of the Texas longhorns. One of the most informative books we have found is one written by author Franks Dobie. Did you know that the BIG HORN COWS came over from Europe and they became the only breed originated in the USA? In our quest for knowledge, we are constantly gathering information from those who know longhorns. When we are scheduled for an appearance, the longhorns arrive at your location in their specially equipped trailer which also serves as a backdrop. Our exhibit includes a portable split-rail fence used to enclose our steers. It is decorated in a true Texas theme, proudly displaying the Texas and American flags. We welcome all questions and we are happy to share information that is age appropriate for our audience. In many cases, the guests have never been so close to livestock. The young ones also have a fascination with the huge Clydesdale type trailer. We often let them look at the living quarters and the stock area of the trailer. We share with them how the longhorns are loaded and stress the importance of good driving manners when traveling near a trailer. You might say that we are guilty of trying to encourage polite future drives. The longhorns are available for photos which the guests can take as a remembrance of the day. Our high quality digital 4x6 photos are printed right on site (an electrical outlet must be provided by the client). You may also use your own camera if you wish. It is always a thrill to see a simple smile come to the face of a senior citizen. Some tell us they had their picture made when they were young. We offer your guests a chance of a lifetime that will be remembered forever. Nothing new, almost forgotten, and still cool!
